Aquabear Seniors post great times at High School Classic
The Aquabear “seniors” demonstrated that their training is definitely paying off with their outstanding performances this weekend. Representing their various high schools at the High School Classic Meet, down at the University of Arizona, this Saturday they all swam impressively enough to assure themselves of a spot in November’s High School State Meet.
Junior, Kaylan Ottoson, threw down 2 in-season best times taking 4th in the 50 Free (24.96) and 2nd in the 100 Free (54.72). She also posted extremely solid splits in leading off the 200 Medley Relay (back split 28.42) and helping her team to a win in the 200 Free Relay (split 24.44). Freshman, Brian Stahlman was equally impressive in posting a lifetime best 100 Breast (1:03.51 ) finishing 7th in the event as well as impressive lifetime best of 56.24 in the 100 Free. Jake Stahlman, also a Junior, went 1:54.81 in his 200 Free slicing almost 8 seconds off his lifetime best time as well as posting lifetime best split times in both the 200 Free Relay (split 23.81 ) and 400 Free Relay (split 52.92 ).
" I am excited at how well they performed at this point in the season especially after the hard work we put in over the course of the last week" said Coach Justin Slade. “I think them showing the ability to swim this fast at this pint in the season bodes really well for November.”
